Last month in a bookstore I saw The Official Underground 2012 Doomsday Survival Handbook by W.H. Mumfrey. It didn't take me much page shuffling to decide I wanted to read this book. It is well illustrated and you should enjoy them as much as what is written.

Mumfrey has a terrific sense of humor. He knows how to explain the 'fat lady singing' of 2012's potential events in a way that I could do no better. On the first page:

"About The Author: W.H. Mumfrey lives on an island off the south coast of Australia and is ready to seal the bunker door at a moment's notice." (I LOVE that…right to the point)

His book begins with a chapter on failed doomsday prediction for historical (hysterical too) purposes. My one comment on these is that they each originate from one person per prediction whereas the 2012 warnings come from more than not only the Mayan calendar, but also from sources all over the world.

The second section: A is for Apocalypse gets into Mayan history, writings and Codices. As he says at the end of this section, "cell phones and fast food one day can very quickly give way to underground bunkers and spears the next". Indeed.

Section three is Apocalypse How? This chapter covers various ways in which Earth may end next year, starting with Supervolcano and Solar Superstorm to Alien Invasion and Global Deluge. The Day of Judgement one, though, I can guarantee won't happen but it's neat to see the 'one' external god with brass knuckles ready to beat Earthers up.

I completely agree with his assessment on the aliens: "Although an alien invasion is far from the top of the potential threat lists of most doomsday aficionados, it must be remembered that it is the horse with the longest odds that catches most people off guard when it gallops across the finish line. Fail to prepare at your own peril." SO true.

Section four: D-Day. The graphic here is the Death Star in orbit shooting at Earth…and we all know what happens then. He is correct in saying: "However, no one can be sure just which way the cataclysmic pendulum will swing on D-Day."

And this one: "And if D-Day dawns to the hum of alien landing craft, you will know that you have bet on the wrong horseman of the apocalypse. At very least you may be able to say a quick "I told you so…" before you are blown to kingdom come by a laser canon." I just love that…and I do like saying 'I told you so' to people who wouldn't listen!

This is the how to survive section for such as asteroid impact, a mega-tsunami, solar storm and more. Even robot insurrections and zombie apocalypse (true) are included. As for the alien invasion section here, "Although ray guns can be fired from incredible distances with pinpoint accuracy, they can't fire around corners". BUT, I say, if it's an Orion Death Star, you can run, you can hide, but you cannot escape!

Section five: Alternate Endings - with the quote by Crazy Horse, "Today is a good day to die". This one begins with nuclear wasteland (watch out for cannibals is a completely tasteful section here). Pandemics to alien invasion and nuclear war are included here with others. The graphic with the alien steamroller running over fleeing Earthers is particularly interesting.

The final section is six: A New Earth. Of course he's assuming the Planetary Spirit has not Graduated at this time. This section deals with how to improvise when the common luxuries of today no longer are available, such as toilet paper, soap and shampoo. "One of the small advantages of the B.O. apocalypse will be the ability to smell your enemy coming a mile off."

LOTS of survival-type information in this chapter along with how to start your own new country and religion. His final words, "In the end, whether the apocalypse happens or not on December 21, 2012 is not the important thing, it's being ready for it that counts."

I completely enjoyed this book and laughed out loud many times. I totally recommend this book to all of you. Amazon.com has it. 220 pages for only $14.99 US. Get this book!

And, oh by the way, he has another book: The Alien Invasion Survival Handbook. There are errors in it and he only concentrates on the Grays but it does have its moments.

Review: Apocalypse Survival Guide 2012

A few days after I discovered Mumfrey's book, I found this 2012 calendar. The front has the Earth exploding (Graduation Day!) with "you were here" over North America and "The last calendar you will ever need" in the bottom right. I knew it was made for me.

Each month has important information at the top page over the month, such as Pre-Traumatic Stress Disorders, Earth's Final Valedictory Speech (more Graduation Day references…hmmmm) and the Top 20 Best Signs It Had To End.

December's is Happy No Year's Eve!...Decorate to Annihilate and Soundtrack to  Black included here. The top 10 songs for the end of the world. A couple listed: Eve of Destruction, There's A Kind of Hush and Save the Last Dance for Me. "Party like there's no tomorrow! no REALLY…"

The real kicker is the December view…all the days from December 22 - 31 are red X'd off. And so it goes. Lots to see in this calendar at $14.99 US, although I was attending Border's extended funeral and took all their copies at 1/2 price. I do recommend this calendar as well.

Finale: True Blood

I really like this HBO series. Their fourth season finale was last night and I want to make some comments about what they depicted.

When the white witch cast the protection spell using salt (this IS correct just be sure it's non-iodized) and the three women chanted together, the protection shield was blue and stopped the demon from entering their circle. Blue light won't stop anything…gotta be gold and I don't know if salt alone is powerful enough for a being like that either.

They summoned the spirits of dead relatives and friends (amazing effects), yet these dead were distant to the summoners, even Sookie's grandmother who was a main character in season one. When granny was finished dispossessing a dark witch from Lafayette, she was ready to walk away. Sookie was trying to relate to her as when she was alive. This didn't work well. She didn't even get a hug.

My comment to you is that once the spirit is finished with the incarnation, shim starts reverting to the true spirit ID. Granny seemed more interested in the dead, dark witch than the live granddaughter. The Game was over for that incarnation. No need to play the part any longer.

We, as our Higher Selves, with all the knowledge and memories (staggering) there are so much different than any single incarnation with a slight exception to that Higher Self's Final.

If you get a chance to watch True Blood's season four finale, you'll see what I mean…and more.

Meanwhile…are you ready? Trust in YOUR Higher Self!!!
